UNC leads Syracuse 39-37 at half

As the first half of No. 6 North Carolina's up-and-down contest with Syracuse drew to a close, the Tar Heels had a plan.

With time ticking of the clock, Larry Drew lobbed a pass across the court for Ed Davis to lay in and the rim. 

The alley-oop play gave UNC the slight halftime edge, 39-37.

Davis leads the Tar Heels with 13 points in the half and seven rebounds. Will Graves has eight points on two-for-five three-point shooting.

UNC was dominated early by Syracuse, as the Orange raced out to an 11-2 lead. The Tar Heels came back and closed the half with the two-point lead and 10 offensive rebounds.

For Syracuse, Wes Johnson has 16 points to lead the Orange. Rick Jaskcon has seven.
