The annual three-game series between North Carolina and Duke is tied 1-1 after the Blue Devils' 15-11 victory Saturday.

Sophomore Levi Michael went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Tar Heels, but despite hits from every spot on the roster it wasn't enough for a win.

North Carolina will play tonight in one of the toughest environments in college basketball, but one that has been decidedly friendly in recent years.

North Carolina baseball took the second game of its series with George Washington 4-2 with the help of a big seventh inning performance.

Just like Friday when the Tar Heels had back-to-back innings with two-out scores, UNC churned out four runs with two outs.

North Carolina trails Boston College 37-36 at halftime in Chestnut Hill. The Tar Heels had the edge early and led by as much as seven, but the Eagles' 5-of-11 shooting from the 3-point line kept them in it.

Tyler Zeller returns to action today, giving some much-needed help to a North Carolina team that is coming of its fifth loss of at least 15 points this season.

Zeller has been out with a stress fracture in his right foot and last played in the Tar Heels' ACC opener, a win against Virginia Tech.

North Carolina baseball coach Mike Fox had won all 11 season openers he had coached while at UNC.

Friday against George Washington, he needed some late-game magic out of his squad to get the 6-5 victory.

UNC had back-to-back innings with a 2-out score to propel the game to an extra inning and finally to win.

Last week the North Carolina women's softball team went 2-3 in Austin, Texas at the Time Warner Invitational.  The TarHeels, ranked No. 23/24, in national polls, got back to action on Friday in a doubleheader against Delaware and St. Joseph's.
